Hiking and Biking from Our Park

At the front desk and on our website, you’ll find beautiful hiking trails that start right at our park. For example, take the Langeveld Trail, which is over three kilometers long, or the Malote-Thalasso Trail through the expansive dune landscape. Another highlight is the Atlantikwall Route, just under four kilometers long, which takes you past historic bunkers from the war.

Noordwijk’s beach is a full thirteen kilometers long. Walk north toward Langevelderslag and you’ll often have the beach all to yourself. If you head south, you’ll walk toward Noordwijk’s lively promenade with its many outdoor cafes and the famous lighthouse. Many beach bars remain open even outside the summer season. About seven kilometers from the park lie the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen, a beautiful, peaceful area where you can walk for hours among the fallow deer. Would you rather hop on a bike? From our park, you can easily cycle along the coastal route toward Zandvoort, Katwijk, or the colorful Bollenstreek.

Fun Places Near Our Park

In the mood for a day of culture or shopping? Around Noordwijk, you’ll find plenty of historic towns and museums for a relaxing afternoon together. Cities like Haarlem and Leiden are just a 20- to 30-minute drive away. Tip for spring: the Bollenstreek in full bloom draws large crowds, so be sure to book your outings and restaurants well in advance.

Leiden

The historic city center of Leiden is located 14 kilometers from the park. The city center is small, making it easy to take a stroll along the canals and through the courtyards. There are plenty of places to grab a cup of coffee, especially on the waterfront patios. Prefer a museum? You’ll find the famous National Museum of Antiquities and Naturalis here.

Haarlem

Haarlem (a 15-kilometer drive) is a lovely city to explore on foot. Be sure to take a stroll through the streets behind the Grote Markt; that’s where you’ll find the best shops and boutiques. It’s also a great place for museums. The Teylers Museum—the oldest in the Netherlands—and the Frans Hals Museum are within walking distance of each other in the city center.

Zandvoort

Zandvoort is a ten-kilometer drive away and offers a completely different beach experience. While people mainly come to Noordwijk for the peace and quiet, things are a bit livelier here. You can easily park along the kilometer-long boulevard. From there, you can stroll right into the town center with its small shops, or take a seat at one of the many beach pavilions.
